Greetings there, I have been trying this for some time now. I need to install and configure Cisco VPN client on mandriva. This worked flawlessly on mandriva 2007 earlier.
The first time it gave me error while compiling, which were resolved by applying a patch to the kernel found here [http://tuxx-home.at/archives/2007/05/29/T16_34_26/] and the patched cisco client is here [http://tuxx-home.at/vpn/Linux/vpnclient-linux-x86_64-4.8.01.0640-k9.tar.gz] Now when i try to start the client, i get an insmod fail error in two formats:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] vpnclient]# /etc/init.d/vpnclient_init start Starting /opt/cisco-vpnclient/bin/vpnclient: insmod: can't read '/lib/modules/2.6.22.9-desktop-1mdv/CiscoVPN/cisco_ipsec.ko': No such file or directory Failed (insmod) [EMAIL PROTECTED] vpnclient]#
This gets resolved by gunzip-ing the .ko file as .ko.gz (as mandriva expects a compressed module) /me tried again and got the following:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] CiscoVPN]# /etc/init.d/vpnclient_init start Starting /opt/cisco-vpnclient/bin/vpnclient: insmod: error inserting '/lib/modules/2.6.22.9-desktop-1mdv/CiscoVPN/cisco_ipsec.ko': -1 Invalid module format Failed (insmod) [EMAIL PROTECTED] CiscoVPN]#
So /me is stuck and unable to overcome this problem. Kindly suggest how to overcome it and/or suggest another client that can understand cisco's config file format. PS: i tried a package called cisco von connector(comes with mandriva), still could not succeed! And hence am forced to turn to window$ :-( Please help. Thanks, rohit. _______________________________________________ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Next Event: http://freed.in - February 22/23, 2008 Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/
