What was the question again?

While researching for a version control system for my home directory
(I selected Mercurial) I found that some people were concerned about
VCS leaving conflict markers in config files potentially causing lots
of trouble. But I think if it's single machine/user then conflicts
should not occur. I would use git or mercurial for the job. But
please do your own test and research before using it on any important
machine.
