Well, the true power of Alfresco is only seen when you add in the workflows and processes, which is what distinguishes a Document Management System from a Document Storage System! I'd done some work on a pilot for a client some time ago, the project never saw light of day but working on Alfresco was interesting. Agreed, though -- it's a powerful tool, and hence complex.
