You probably have to manually forward the ports (inbound port, DHT port) in
your ADSL router, if you're using it in PPPoE mode (the default mode)
configured by them.

It also depends on the torrent client you're using, the clients with UPnP
support (e.g. KTorrent, Vuze (IIRC)) automatically forward ports for you.
