Perhaps I can, perhaps I can't, but would telling
us the NIC model number be asking too much? Please?
I have been using D-Link's PCI cards with Linux for
many years now, always worked for me. D-Link 538TX is good, uses
via-rhine.

Everybody��I just installed
Linux 7.2 and on my machine�.and it does not detect my ether-net card
(Dlink)�..if I check through K>Network Configurator> it does not show
the eth0� IRQ address so when I do give the IRQ(9),it does not get detected
during the boot up, say�s �FAILED� ....then I need to �check� hardware probe
address for eth0 �00:15:ab:ba:8b��and then my CD-ROM and CDRW (at least
recognise it as CD-ROM) are not being recognised�..i have 2 HDD, 10 GB is for
Windows�..4.3GB is for Linux, 163 MB RAM��use LILO to boot, install Linux on
4.3GB HDD�can any body help me�..there
