HI Donna No expert here but some acecdotal response. I bought the La Cie and it drove me just about nuts. I finally returned it.
The manual did not match the app they installed with it, and I spent 10(yes 10 hours ) fiddling, including downloading new firmware and upgrading to 9.2.2. It was usb by the way.
