If it's for education, why did Apple go back to the tray loading
CD drives? We had so many problems with students and those
CD drives on the earlier iMac's. Students would play with the
mechanism, draw on the lens, remove pieces. Yes, a bit of
education should prevent this. You would think. Kids will be kids.

With the introduction of the slot loading iMac's, service calls went
way down. The odd call for garbage being inserted into the drive
and some teachers trying to use the small CD's.

With the older iMac's, to prevent the students from playing with
the drives, we inserted junk CD-ROM's into the drive and locked
them in with Fool Proof.

I think the eMac is what education needed, but I hope they will
switch drives in the future. I also hope they will keep the 15" CRT
iMac for it's price advantage.
