I have an unlucky friend who has a pair of daughter's headed to college 
this fall. (Fortunately the twins have some scholarships. <G>) He bought 
two eMac's and it's a very nice machine. Good performance, fully 
internet ready, with Jaguar's new support of smpt networks they should 
be seamless on the campus network.

Yup, they are still that old power gobbling CRT technology, vs the 
"environmentally friendly" flat panel iMac's, but it's a lot of computer 
for the money. With OS X'x security features it should be an excellent 
computer for dorm room use.
