Well, this really is just a guess, but it's possible the font is set by Yahoo in CSS- 
a 
technology that integrates w/ HTML to provide the programmer greater control over 
design 
elements in web pages.  There should be a preferences option to always override text 
settings, and another to disable CSS (although a lot of other websites are gonna look 
weird 
without it).
