It's a snap.  Place the iMac face down, remove the screw and gently work the
cover off.  Remember exactly how the cables sit so when you put the lid back
on they aren't damaged.

It is tricky to replace the rom drive in that there are clips that keep it
from moving back and forth.  The front face is also delicate.

Just be careful and don't force anything to the breaking point.  It took me
two tries to get it in right, but it has worked fine ever since...
