This usually works, but I hate to admit on one occasion the handle came off in my hand! Ever since then I use just enough force, but if it seems really stiff I gently lift up the rear part a little with a small screwdriver to help it on its way. Once the base is off pull away the connectors. One needs a small metal 'p' clip unscrewing, and the video lead 2 screws on each side. Then remove the 2 top screws and the whole logic assy comes out. The CD drive is only clipped in, it easy removes. When the replacement is dropped in make sure the return spring engages in the bottom of the CD drive bracket.
