Sorry Dale, I meant to write: Epson has not yet written a 740 driver for OS X, as far as I know. I expect they will, eventually. Apple has drivers for a lot of Epson printers on their website, but not [yet] the 740.
To answer your question, I suppose it could, but limited functionality is usually a symptom of not using the correct driver, such as choosing 'generic' or a driver that is close in model number, but not exact. Download the update and see.
