Hello LEM-listers,

I am at last being forced to upgrade my IE from 4.01 to 4.5.1 minimum to be
able to access some online sites which will not responde with the older
version of IE in place.

This is for our iMac Rev. A using OS 8.6 with 384 megs RAM and using AOL 4.0.

I only need the IE browser, not Outlook Express.

Is there anything in particular I should be aware of when I try to do this?
Can anyone please recommend a stable site that I may download this program
from? Will there be any incompatabilities with this 'newer' version of IE
and AOL 4.0 or with OS 8.6 that anyone might be aware of, and if so what
precautions need I take? Will I have to remove the old IE 4.01 files or will
they be overwritten upon installing the newer version?

I do not want to upgrade anything that is really unnecessary to upgrade as I
have an 80 year old mama using this machine and she is slow to absorb new
things on the computer; to say the least, new things 'throw her'. She is
happiest with things as simple and remain as much the same as possible for
her.

Ah well, such is life.

Any assistance with this will be gratefully accepted, thanx!

Cheers...

Paul
