Yes. Most mail clients encode ANY text that follows "http://"; as a
hyperlink automatically.

Yes, because some people don't realize that you NEED the "http://";
prefix in a URL in an E-mail if you want it to be clickable.

For example, THIS URL should be clickable:

http://www.habidabad.com

THIS one, for the exact same web page, is NOT clickable:

www.habidabad.com

Adding the "http://"; signals most E-mail clients to turn the following
text up to the next space or enter character into a hyperlink. In fact,
the "http://"; ITSELF is probably a hyperlink (blue underlined) on your
screen right now, though it doesn't lead anywhere. ;)

Also, many E-mail clients look for an "@" sign in a block of text as
well and, when they find one, turn it into a mailto: link, like so:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Despite all of the links you've probably seen throughout this message,
this message is STILL nothing more than plain vanilla ASCII text. It is
your MAIL CLIENT that is "intelligently" looking for text that APPEARS
to be a URL or E-mail address and automatically CONVERTING it into links
for you.

Actually, even PINE, the UNIX text-based E-mail client mentioned
earlier, does this, although the web browser that opens when you select
such links is a primited text-based browser. And, of course, since PINE
is ENTIRELY text-based, you don't use the MOUSE to "click" the links.
You select them with the cursor keys. Alternatively, PINE numbers all
links as well, so you can jump directly to a particular link by typing
in its number while the message/page in question is displayed.
