Not sure if there is cause and effect here. I ran Apple System Profiler for the first time today since updating to 10.2.2 several days ago. It got as far as gathering information and then briefly displaying the first screen of information before crashing. Subsequent attempts have resulted in the same behaviour.
I run the application frequently enough to be confident that the only change to my system since I last ran it was the OS update. No other application thus far has shown any signs of misbehaviour. I have carried out the usual troubleshooting activities - repairing permissions (why do repairs seldom stick for more than a few days?), checking disk integrity with Disk Utility, rebooting, reinstalling the 10.2.2. Update. While the loss of the application is irritating rather than damaging, I would like some ideas on why the application has suddenly started to crash and what I can do to fix it. Has anyone else experienced the same problem recently? iMac 800, 15" flat screen, 512M, Superdrive (firmware upgraded), 10.2.2, etc. -- Steve -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
