Recently added external JBL-Pro speakers to the iMac (OS 9.1, 512Mb, Rev. D/333 model) and now the alert beeps are shockingly loud. The only solution seems to be to turn down the overall system sound which, in turn, turns down the speaker volume (or 'muting' the sounds which turns off the speakers entirely - not quite what I had intended).
Is there some shareware or such thing that works around this problem? Sincerely, -- Matthew D.
