Thanks to all who answered my questions about the new maxtor drive. I went ahead and clicked the initialize last night and it worked. I'm installing all the software now and so far I'm happy with it. It is so much quieter than the one that came with it I'm beginning to like this machine after all. My iMate keyboard adapter made all the difference in the world, I can't believe anyone can actually type on that thing it comes with. Anyone want an iMac keyboard for free? Even though I did customize installation on every single item, I still got stuff installed I didn't want with the 9.0 and 9.1 installation disks. Anyway, thanks and what a deal for $29! Kari
