I haven't heard of anyone fixing them, but I'm sure it COULD be done,
probably a LOT more trouble than it's worth though.

Please don't through them away, I'm sure someone on the swap list or even
(*shudder*) eBay would be happy to take them off your hands - if not to fix
than to make into some kind of crazy project.  Maybe transplant the innards
into a Mac 128K mouse.  Or glue them all to your sombrero with the USB
cables dangling down, very stylish.
