I am new to the apple family and I have an iMac OS X. I ran into some problems when I was trying to install an HP printer. I did some research and found that I needed to upgrade. I downloaded the appropriate files but I cannot launch it because of this error: Disk Appears Dimmed (or "Grayed Out") in the Installer. I did some more research and I discovered that I need to partition my hard disk to create a volume that falls entirely within the first 8 GB of the disk. Again I say that I am new to the Mac world, and I am not sure how to go about doing this without totally distroying my system. Can anyone please help me.
