Do NOT get a USB burner. They are too slow. Consider upgrading to 9.1, which is generally considered superior ot 9.0.4. This might become important with the use of a firewire burner.
Be SURE the firewire burner that you buy has an Oxford 911 chip. Very important. Plextor is widely regarded as super-excellent. But they are difficult to find in firewire configuration. Consider purchasing from a brick and mortar store, so that return and/or trouble shooting is facilitated. However, my dealings with www.OtherWorldComputing.com have been excellent. (Also, their reputation is excellent.) And all their firewire drives have the Oxford 911 chip. Www.macGurus.com is a source of valuable information. A 24X burner is fast enuff. (I have a 12X burner and an 8X burner. Both perform acceptably.) Ward.Bennett wrote: > My son wants a CD burner (not for copyrighted > material.)
