I think your figure of 2000 might be a bit off there, I'd have said 2001 for laptops and slightly later for desktop PCs. Also most Macs, apart from the cheaper iMacs, had one starting around 2001.


Superdrive = DVDRW. It writes, reads, and maybe makes some good coffee too. You want to watch a DVD, make a DVD, write a music CD, rewrite a DVD or CD, well thats why its called a super drive.

These popped up in Macs around 2001 also but were dang slow, they only really started coming into mainstream Macs last year, and the Powerbooks about a year ago.
