Is the problem specific to Toast -- i.e. does iTunes recognize the drive?
I use a USB CDRW: in OS 9, Toast 4.1.3 won't recognize the drive if an
extension called USB Authoring Support is enabled; iTunes and Disc Burner
won't recognize the drive if it isn't.
