Well, I did something fun and useful with my iMac (for me at least). I hooked it up via ethernet cable to my PB 1400 (yay me). I've been looking for an external USB modem, and it looks like I've found one (yay me again).
Would you mind posting which model USB modem you're using, and your experiences hooking it up (plug-n-play, did you have to dl drivers, etc). Would probably benefit people on this list and others.
NOW, I've found a new problem. I have myself one of them thar Lacie CD-RW drives (USB/firewire), but it doesn't seem to want to record anymore. When I'm in Toast, the program doesn't recognize there being any CD-r or CD-RW drive. However, when a disc is the drive, it does show up on the desktop, so it's working, at least in one way or another. Anyone know why I can't record with my CD-RW drive?
Strictly a guess, but if you're working in 9 then the first suspect ought to be the conflict between 9's CD-burning drivers and Toast's CD-burning drivers (I thought they got that sorted out with a later version of Toast, but perhaps you've not upgraded yet).
Try turning the Mac OS cd-burning extensions off and rebooting.
