I live in NYC, and one of the benefits of the traffic is that local use of cars is impractical for all but those who can afford limos. So walking 5 miles to go somewhere is not a problem - it's like living in the suburbs and driving an hour and a half. Generally I walk 2 miles a day just to keep myself alive. Unfortunately, NYC also has the greatest food available everywhere. So all this walking has lowered my blood pressure, but hasn't made me thin. Anyway, it's a good idea for the urban dwellers among us. For the rest, I just wanted to point out that having write-once CD's is not a really big ecological problem compared to using CDRW's.
