Hi Dennis, has your friend tried to trash the Apple Menu Options prefs? As these tend to get corrupt after time. BTW the utility you're referring to is called TomeViewer with which you can extract individual files from the installer tome. But I suggest he tries trashing the prefs first. Marc
Yep. Prefs trashed, more memory allocated. The problem only goes away if Apple Menu Options is disabled. And it isn't a third party extension conflict; it exists when only Mac OS 9 extensions are enabled. Of course this is long distance troubleshooting: he's in Virginia and I'm in California.
