Yep. Prefs trashed, more memory allocated. The problem only goes away if Apple Menu Options is disabled. And it isn't a third party extension conflict; it exists when only Mac OS 9 extensions are enabled. Of course this is long distance troubleshooting: he's in Virginia and I'm in California.
