I'm worried about our Rev. B iMac. It has been making occasional electrical arcing sounds for the last couple years, but they were always few and far between. It would go for months between the little crackling noises, that sound like the noise a static electricity spark makes as it jumps from your finger to a doorknob.
Within the last few days the sounds have been getting more and more frequent, I've heard it 10 times in the last hour just now. Has anyone else had this happen to their iMac or other CRT? Was it a sign of impending doom? Is there anything that can be done to fix it? -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
