Yes: definitely it's the PAV board (Power/Analog/Video). Same thing happened to my Rev B a few months ago. Folks told me that this is pretty well known issue in the older iMacs.
(But I live in an area which I do not believe has had even one power failure or surge since I bought it new in 1998...) Kyle H.
