I did the same thing, but found some web page after Googling for about 
15 minutes where someone had listed troubleshooting steps.  I tend to 
remember something about holding down the space bar to temporarily 
restore the video.  Also, if you have video out, that should still 
work.  Once you get past installing the firmware, it should work like a 
charm.
