Hi all. New here and I have a doozie.
iMac 350 slot loading given to me. 9.0.4, 6GB, 192MB with the firmware video problem. I figured out the fix of getting the screen to light up (waiting for desktop to load, sleeping iMac, waking up- screen appears) so I could hurry up and update to 9.1 and apply the 4.1.3 firmware patch to (hopefully) fix the video problem. I was very proud of myself and then did the worst- somehow I managed to install a bad System, so the iMac never gets to the desktop anymore and won't startup from a 9.1 update CD. I don't have another compatible iMac to swap HDs, install 9.1 and put the firmware patch in the startup items folder and this iMac doesn't have an external VGA connector to do the patch fix for an external monitor.
Question is, does anyone know of a patch to get an external monitor using the LC floppy cable so I can at least see what's going on during the failed startup or any other ideas?
