Many thanks to the two listees who offered solutions to my Expos� problem!

Removing com.apple.dock.plist got Expos� back to behaving like it should.

I would suggest taking a picture of your dock, then delete
~/Library/com.apple.dock.plist

then in terminal type killall Dock

then rebuild your dock using the picture you took.
