Well, I just thought I had to add my $0.02 here.... I was a PC user
up until 2001 when I switched over to Mac. I had been right
clicking and left clicking for years to the point where my right
index finger is now actually mis-shapen (bent upwards). I used to
get excruciating pain in my right hand and forearm after hours of
using my PC....since switching to the Mac and the single button
mouse, this has all gone away. No more pain. My finger is still
bent...and I guess it'll stay that way, but using Apple's single
button mouse has really made my computing experience much more
pleasant.
Whoa! Thanks, Tim.
There's another great reason for using a one-button mouse -- carpel tunnel.
You got me curious... so I checked with my housemate. She has carpel
tunnel, from playing too much tetris and doing too much needlepoint.
She regularly uses a Kensington PocketMouse USB with her PowerBook
G4. It has a scroll whell and multiple buttons. She has informed me
that she has all the buttons set to act like a single-button mouse...
because when she had them set for different functions, her hand
started hurting after a while.
