purchased LaCie 160 GB FireWire (400) external hard drive.
Seems to work great, very fast.
But..., sometimes, I'm getting a message about not being able to copy
files because the file name has unrecognizable characters or is too
long. In all cases I've had to change a "/" to a "_" to compete the
process.
How can I get the new hard drive to handle file names like a mac does
instead of like a pc does??
Also is it possible to move rather than copy files to the new drive.

When you got the LaCie drive did you use the Disk Utility program to
format it too Mac Extended or Mac Extended (Journaled)?
