Hi again, Listers!
When my iMac DV (Grape, 400 MHz G3) finally died, I bought another iMac
(Blueberry, 450 MHz). It arrived with Mac OS 9.2.
As with my previous iMac, it started with a reassuring chime, but; as
with my previous iMac, as soon as I installed OS X.3.9, and now OS
X.4.4, the starting chime is gone.
If I start in Mac OS 9, it does the start-up chime, the first time it
starts in Mac OS X after switching OS's it does chime, subsequent
start-ups do not have the chime.
If this is normal, no big deal; however, being a loooong time Mac user,
I do miss that reassuring, everything-is-fine start-up chime.
My question, then; Is this normal?
TIA
