OK. So one thing doesn't seem to work (well, and I can't print, as
the print queue keeps turning itself off) - I've tried the "hold
down the option key to switch between OS X and OS 9 on startup" and
it seems to have no effect. The computer will boot into whatever is
set Startup Disk. Any ideas?
Answering my own question: Because the Startup Manager didn't appear
until the introduction of the slot loading iMacs. Still don't
understand what's going on with printing, though. The printer is an
Epson Stylus 740. If I use the printer utility, I can have it print
test pages, clean itself, etc, but I can't actually print anything
from any OS X app. Works fine in OS 9, of course. Ideas?
