At exactly midnight every night my LaCie external firewire drive gets indexed and causes my G4 iMac to kernel-panic and freeze after 15 seconds. To prevent this happening during the day I've added the external disc to Spotlight's "privacy" mode, but the Mac seems to override this setting at midnight. Only cure? Unplugging this drive at 11.59pm or shutting down and going to bed early.
Any clues please? Thanks! Kevin -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
