What kind of Mac? Intel Macs support booting from USB drives, however the Gx 
Macs don't; at least not without some work to make the firmware see the device 
as bootable (I tried it once, but it was way too complicated for me :P) I don't 
think it involved sheep shaver, and I'm not sure what that has to do with it, 
since a G4 is already a PPC Mac.
