Bill,

No, only to G3-G5 Macs with an integrated monitor, like iMacs, eMacs,
and iBooks. (PowerBooks never had that constraint, as far as I can
tell, but I could be wrong.) G3-G5 towers are free to choose between
mirror and extended desktop modes.
