Jonathan, You're suffering from an excess of quality, not a lack... :-) Most likely the definition of the DVDs you are trying to watch does not match your screen's size and high resolution. Try tweaking down the resolution until it gets a bit more watchable --or get an external BlueRay player. Just in case I'm wrong, try before watching them with VLC instead of the DVD Player. I am a VLC fan myself --it offers you a lot more options, and it's free.
