Same problem (Mac mini 2013) well sort of my problem was more like it took the OS a very long time to respond. If I held the left mouse button down and waited for 3 or 4 seconds before doing anything I would get results. And if I wanted to drag something I had to drag real slowly otherwise I would loose the object that I was dragging.
My friend @ Mac Store suggested getting the Apple Bluetooth Mouse, which solved everything. The good thing about purchasing the Apple mouse from the Apple Store is that they have a full refund (2 weeks) if not satisfied.
