How long did you wait before turning them on? I think you should allow at least 2 to 3 days (in a warm ambient)... Water (inside a computer) is not so bad in itself (salt water would be worse, but rainwater should be clean enough)... if the computer is OFF. It's when you have water + electric energy that bad things happen! Hence if you didn't wait long enough, maybe that's what created the issue. Or, water got to the battery, and that would be bad enough in itself for the battery (but maybe not for the rest of circuits). I'm sorry I don't have specific help about this; never ever happened to me (but I only use desktops).
