Time for me to present myself,
I am the marketing director of a french company dedicated to webconsulting:
European Electronic Commerce.
As a beginning of an answer I remember that i found some studies on Internet
ROI on the netscape website (home.netscape.com I think) u must find a search
there and then write ROI, they studied the case of a dozen of companies that
uses the net and intranet to boost productivity, u'll find features there.
Hope, it's still online
