Hi Joseph, copy-paste should work in all dialogs.
If you want to insert the ยต symbol in an image with the text tool (creating in a text ROI or text overlay), press crtl-y (CMD-y on macs) while you enter the text. Then you get a dialog where you can edit the text entered; you can paste a micron symbol in this text field.
With some non-US keyboard mappings, you can also use AltGr-m. Normal US keyboards don't have the AltGr modifier key.
