need to create an MX for domain.com also. It is not neccessary to create an
MX for ns.domain.com but it wont hurt. ( think, im not a DNS guy). But you
definitely need to create the MX for domain.com.
Think about it. you send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] you need to exchange with
domain.com, not ns.domain.com. the ns.domain.com is basically use for web
access. Like if you went to http://ns.domain.com you would be able to send
mail using *domain.com.

i just would like precise one think, in my dns srv i have a MX on the domain
wich is NS.DOMAIN.COM
In IMail the host name is NS.DOMAIN.COM and the alias is DOMAIN.COM
If i understand well what you're talking about i keep the MX as
NS.DOMAIN.COM i put the host name in IMail as DOMAIN.COM and the alias of
the domain in iMail is NS.DOMAIN.COM
Is it right ?
Thanks,
David

You need to create the official host name as 'domain.com' then add alias' of
or 'mail.domain.com', 'mail2.domain.com' etc. Once you do that everything
will basically work off of the official host name 'domain.com'.

Subject: [imail] trouble with NS.HOST.COM and HOST.COM
Hi !
i have a problem with a host in Imail for web access. The host name in imail
is 'ns.madinter.net' and there is an alias 'madinter.net'
When i add manually a user or trough EZSignup, the ReplyTo address in user
info is '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' and when he/she send mail, the from address
is [EMAIL PROTECTED] .. :(
For this i have found that if i change manually the reply to as
[EMAIL PROTECTED] this problem is resolved but is it exist an automatic way
to do that ?
The other think is when a user log on on the webmail the address in the
upper of the screen is [EMAIL PROTECTED] and whatever the reply tyo is
[EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I suppose it comes from the host name in the imail server but how to do to
not have the 'ns.' (Execpt remove imail tag in source code..)
Many thanks for your help,
David Maillard.
