Andrew,

The following has worked well for us. We use an ASP component to make the
registry change after ADDUSER add the user account.

Here is the key that needs to be modified:

HKLM\Software\Ipswitch\IMail\Domains\DOMAINNAME\Users\USERNAME\Flags

where DOMAINNAME is the Official Host Name and USERNAME is the username of
the user to be modified.

What you need to do is configure the user with the rights you desire using
the IMail Administrator. Then, look at the registry entry to see what the
value of the Flags key is. For example, the following value will set the
user to be a Host Administrator, Allow Web Access, and User cannot change
password: 388

Standard disclaimer: make backups of your registry files before making any
changes.

Hope this helps,
Chris Scott

anyone on list know what entry if any in NT registery
distiguishes an Imail user on a virtual host as having web admin rights?

I find it a real pain that adduser.exe does not allow me
to apply this from the command line.

Thanks

Andrew
