Nothing weird about it at all, how weird to think that! vbg
If some PERL head here talked to "Jim" who wrote the excellent open
source pflogsumm.pl script for summarizing IMGate/postfix logs, I bet
he'd let it be adapted to Imail logs (smtp only). The reports are
excellent. Imail's log's are not so detailed as postfix's, but good
enough to produce many of the reports of the pflogsumm script.
What I'd first rather have on Imail (since I've got all the logging I
need on IMGate) is a couple of "anomaly detection daemons" (aka
services in MS-speak) that surf the Imail log watching for upper /
lower thresholds per unit of time. Anomalies such as 100's msgs from
one or two one Imail accounts in one hour (mail bomb or spammer), how
many SMTPD/SMTP processes in memory, the size of the queue, the rate
of change of the queue, etc.
