Just a thought, but is anyone using your mailer for spam or what could be
considered spam.

let's see you logs where Imail "SMTPD" log lines can't send to
AOL.  The error msg or SMTP reponse code should tell why AOL is
rejecting.  There is also "ignore source address" option in "smtp
security" which is kind of the "AOL setting".
