Thanks for the confirmation. Now the only gripe I have is that the IMail
documentation clearly states, and I quote, "the system on which you install
IMail Server must be a Backup Domain Controller, not a stand-alone server.".
Unfortunately, I have a nasty habit of taking things literally and assumed
that they meant what they said and that they *really* wanted it to be a BDC.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, I just tried it again and it works. We've used Imail with
our NT user database for several years now. It does not work when
the machine running Imail is a BDC, it only works when the Imail
machine is the PDC. In the past, when I had the Imail machine as
a BDC, I tried many things to make it work (making sure that the
domain had syncronized after the change), but without sucess.
When I promoted my Imail box to PDC, the password feature worked.

The only thing to remember is that IF a user changes their
password through Imail on the PDC, AND the next time they log into
your domain a BDC authenticates them instead of the PDC (which
usually only happens if the PDC is very busy), they will not get
in with their new password until the domain syncronizes manually
or automatically (which happens every hour or so?).
