Drew,
What I do for my virtual hosted sites is setup another website
in IIS5 for the domain mail.domain.com in addition to their
website folder, i set the site up on the same ip as the website in
question which is also the ip mail.domain.com points to. For the
new mail.domain.com website set the home directory as a
redirection to a url, put the url in as
http://mail.domain.com:8383 and tick exact url entered above and
permanent redirection for this resource, then under advanced on ip
address for the site make sure it has mail.domain.com on port 80.
Now you should type mail.domain.com into browser and it will
redirect to mail.domain.com:8383
There should be better ways than this, but I don't mind setting up
the extra site in IIS because I know customers get confused with
the 8383.
