I agree, it should have been. I would respond to MS's response by asking "if
this isn't considered a 'critical update' then what is?"

Even more reason to take 10 minutes, subscribe to bugtraq and set up a rule
to
highlight messages for any products you care about. Then take 30 seconds
each
morning to review.
At a barre minimum subscribe to MS's own bulletin service
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. You won't
know
about anything until MS acknowledges it, but at least you'll get patch
notices.
