Trent, I can sympathize with you. However, mandatory backward compatibility is, in my view, a major impediment to improving software. This may explain why MS Windows kept "evolving" for years while keeping 16-bit subsystems, up to recently. At some point, one has to accept the inconveniences that are inherent in moving to a new OS or application. I, for one, can live with MS Word XP not being able to read WordStar 1.0 files ;)
